The ports get patched, and in most cases you would never know we were there. Cracks that have stopped moving get cleaned out and sealed, so rain stops running down into the base and washing it away. Flaking and pitted spots get patched and blended so the repair reads as part of the slab. When a section is broken past saving, we say so and pour a fresh panel, because dressing up concrete that has already failed only buys you a few months.
